Anastasius I, 491-518. Solidus (Gold, 21 mm, 4.44 g, 6 h), Thessalonica. D N ANASTASIVS P P AVG Pearl-diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Anastasius facing slightly to right, holding spear in his right hand and with a shield decorated with horseman attacking a fallen foe over his left shoulder. Rev. VICTORIA AVGGG / CONOB Victory standing left, holding long voided cross; in left field, star; in right field, star. DOC 27. MIB 14-15. SB 30. Light doubling on the reverse and the left star erased, otherwise, about extremely fine.
